Andy 'Kush' Kushner

Andy "Kush" Kushner is a soulful guitarist whose bluesy, funky style bridges genres with effortless groove. Blending blues, funk, rock, reggae and more, his sound channels the spirit of legends like Stevie Ray Vaughan, Albert King, Jimi Hendrix, and David Gilmour -- while carving out a voice all his own.

Raised in the vibrant San Francisco Bay Area and now based in Raleigh, NC, Andy found his footing in the Blues at local jam nights before briefly pursuing college then choosing a different path—honing his craft through years of gigging up and down California’s Central Coast with a variety of bands. The experience deepened his dedication to the music and exposed him to the highs and lows of life on and off stage. That hard-earned perspective shaped his voice as an artist, eventually leading to a five-year run touring with reggae icon Pato Banton from 2014 to 2019, playing hundreds of shows across the U.S. and abroad.

Moving through and out of the pandemic years, Andy has focused on honing his own musical voice, drawing inspiration from his journey and the artists he's collaborated with. 

Whether fronting the Andy Kush Band or performing solo, Andy’s music reflects a deep love for roots music, and a commitment to connection through sound and making every performance one-of-a-kind.
